WEBRTC phone vs softphone

We have a lot of remote agents (in smart working) that use webrtc phone, some agent report random choppy audio: 3 or 4 times over a 5 minutes call. If they use softphone on same server, issues disappears.
Due to the increase in internet traffic, the agents' internet connection deteriorated slightly. Some packet loss or lagged.

So softphones can handle better network issues than webrtc phones? Or is it a configuration problem? Obviously I have never tested this scenario before..

1) Welcome to the Party! 8-)

2) As you are obviously new here, I have some suggestions to help us all help you:

When you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method (7.X.X?) and vicidial version with build (VERSION: 2.X-XXXx ... BUILD: #####-####).

This IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "manual/from scratch" you must post your operating system with version (and the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system) plus a link to the installation instructions you used. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

3) Are there other differences involved aside from the WebRTC vs softphone? Different Codec perhaps? I do note that most soft phones have a generous amount of configuration options with defaults set to values that have been tested over many revisions before settling on their present default values, and WebRTC is fairly young. So it may be that configuration options could be toyed with or that certain configuration options don't even exist yet.

4) But I will say that if you have the ability to install soft phones, do it. There are lots of free ones and it does tend to add a certain amount of stability, even though it tends to add some complexity and seem not quite so "cool". lol

5) Also, different versions of Asterisk handle WebRTC better than others ... but we have no version information available. so.
