HP Proliant DL380p Gen8 for Vicibox 10

Postby medk » Tue Apr 04, 2023 7:08 pm

Hello,

For a call center to use Vicibox 10 for the following needs:
- Up to 100 agents
- Dial method: autodial (ratio between 2 and 5 as needed)
- Recording: all force
- AMD: on

I want to do it on a server:
HP Proliant DL380p Gen8
2x Xeon E5-2620 v2 (6 cores, 12 threads, 2.0 GHz, 2.60 GHz Turbo, 15MB cache)
64GB RAM
3x 300GB SAS 10K

Can this server handle the workload as a single server (Express) or should I do a cluster with more servers

Thanks you
VICIbox 8.1.1
OpenSuSE Leap v.42.3 64-bit
Kernel v.4.4.155
Asterisk v.13.21.1-vici
DAHDI v.2.11.1
LibPRI v.1.6.0
Amfletec VoiceSync v.1.3.8
OpenR2 v.1.3.3 for MFC/R2 support
ViciDial SVN v.2.14-689a build 180922-0958 revision 3035

The ViciDial team has said before that Asterisk can only reliably handle 20-25 agent connections max. Everything else would probably run fine on a single server, but you'll likely need additional agent servers to handle the workload.

You will need several lower-end servers to act as dialers. The specs you listed might be good enough for a DB/web server, although you may need SSD drives and/or a RAID to handle that.
