With the eminent release of version 2 of this great software, I'm sure we'll have even more people joining these forums, especially for support. As it is right now, everything is lumped into 'General Discussion' making discussion much more difficult. Let's add additional forum categories, such as 'Support', 'Feature discussion'.
Also, we need moderators the make sure people are posting w/ proper topic names and in the correct forum categories.
This will make the forum much more usable as a resource for future users seeking answers.

Did you just volunteer to be a moderator?
Looking at the digium forums, they get a lot more messages per day in the general User section without any major problems. My only hesitation in adding more sections here is that you will get newbies putting support postings all over the place and only having General and Development seems to have worked well so far.
Other than "Features" and "Support" does anyone have any other suggested sections?
Does anyone else want to volunteer to be a moderator(no pay and you have to monitor the forum all the time)?

I'll moderate if i see stuff that requires moderation but I don't think i can always be on the 'hunt' moderating. I really do think having a support section will make things better here though. If we lay the smackdown on people that crosspost/mispost early on and consistently, then that sets the tone for the forum.
There seems to be quite a few regulars here that probably won't mind help moderating the forums.

When I'm done with the 2.0.1 release I'll have a few days to better link together the pieces of the sites so that you can more easily get from one to the other directly. I just have to get into all of those templates and figure out where to put the links.

OK, it is done, Support and Features have been added and gerski and kchung have been added as moderators. Go ahead and start moderating new subjects as they are put in incorrect sections.

Given that I just about live here (hence the 2nd largest amount of posts) I'd be more than happy to moderate (as I sometimes already do).

OK enjay, you're the last moderator for now. I think 4 should be enough to handle the flood of newbies that will show up when we post Trixbox installation instructions in the next few days
Thanks to kchung for posting the sticky on the support forum

I also recommend on the support section we need to see if the topic had been resolve or not; we can do it like on asterisk forum.

No problem! If anyone has any more 'resource links', post it in that thread so I can update my post.
Also, I think the wiki needs a writeup of loadavg so we can just link people to it when we encounter support load problems.

For starts, it'd be nice if they shared the same user/auth database.

If you could figure it out let me know, but they ar all designed as separate systems and do not lend themselves to easy unified logins. Anybody have any code-level experiene with any of those packages?
