DC and NA

Postby gmcust3 » Tue Nov 03, 2009 4:46 pm

On what logic Vici disposes the call as No Answer Not Available And DC ?

I have seen many times that even DC numbers are disposed as NA and when we rechurn/reset , we include NA which reduces the overall call flow , affecting the ASR and eating bandwidth.

What kind of trunks are you using?

In the USA up to 20% of signals that typically signify a Disconnected number(DC) are incorrect and actually signify carrier congestion or some other issue that is not strictly a disconnected number. We did extensive testing with multiple carriers to come up with that figure, and that is the reason we don't code all hangup causes that relate in any way to disconnects as DC.

If you are looking for better accuracy I would recommend the Sangoma Call Progress Analyzer(CPA) It is proprietary and pay-for, but for the clients we have that are using it it is over 95% accurate for call outcomes including SIT tone detection and Answering Machine/Voice/Fax detection.

I am happy with AMD as it detects more 90% AM.

But NA is killing.

It comprises of 60% of the call made.

I have never seen an Asterisk app_amd implementation that can maintain better than 80% true accuracy, and most are around 70%. What settings are you using?

I have seen

NA means

Meaning of NA - No Answer AutoDial - Any outbound call that does not receive an Answer signal(or other signal) from the carrier. This can include ring-no-answer, disconnected, carrier congestion and other errors

NA also includes ring-no-answer.

So, next time when we include NA, Dialer dials out disconnected, carrier congestion and other errors whereas I just want to dial ring-no-answer.

Any way to seperate ring-no-answer out from NA and mark it as SOME OTHER status ?

Not with any degree of accuracy unless you use the Sangoma CPA.

We have several clients using it right now and it does work great, very accurate pre-Answer and AMD detection.

AA is Perfect with me.

NA is a Killer for me.

NA constitute around 45% of total leads !!!!

What a waste of leads !!!

well try sangoma CPA, they have a free version which allows 30 concurrent calls.

if you are happy with the results and it saves you money, you could buy license for rest of your lines.

Sangoma CPA functions as a SIP proxy and runs on a separate Windows server.

The demo only allows for one channel by default.

As for a price, that depends on how many channels you will be buying. Please email us for a quote: sales -at- vicidial.com

Hello,

Matt, we are interested too in a quote for this tri-tone , SIT recognition system. (sangoma)

The NA are killing us too.
Sorry for double posting, I found this post after wrote the other.

We want to be able to test first, and then a quotation for 50 channels.

Hello Matt,

I was wondering about this again and I might have a client willing to put up with it.

I see that the asterisk source wget'ed from the vicidial site seems to to have the cpa patch applied or am I seeing it wrong? It seems it doesnt kill the asterisk process anymore.

Did sangoma released the linux version of it yet?

We are using CPA on hosted for some of our clients and we use our -vici tarball for hosted without issues.

No, unfortunately there is no Linux version of CPA yet, but i was told by their head of software development earlier this month that they were almost done and will be ready for testing soon. I hope that we will be part of that testing.
