Accidental IP change now soft phone won't connect

Postby oach » Tue Jul 17, 2012 9:52 pm

Hey All,

I was working on our dev environment via a gui interface we have that will change the IPs of the server. Unfortunately and accidentely I change the IP of the production server. We have multiple dialers but, of course, this was the main dialer that I changed. I have since, I believe, changed all the settings back to where they should be but I cannot connect the soft phone on that dialer. All the others work fine.

Error from asterisk -r when I try to initialize a phone to that dialer:
Jul 17 21:49:15 NOTICE[2587]: chan_sip.c:11316 handle_request_register: Registration from '"testadvisor"<sip:2607@10.10.30.40>' failed for '10.10.30.67' - ACL error (permit/deny)

Vitals of the machines:
We are using old versions of the software as we have our own layer built on top: VicidialNOW CE 1.3: Vicidial 2.0.5 1rc1, Asterisk 1.2.30.2 (http://vicidialnow.blogspot.com/2009/11 ... eased.html) across five servers (all HP G4p), no digium, no extra software (outside of what is bundled w/ VicidialNOW). Specs of a HP G4p: (2) Intel Xeon 3.6GHz CPUs 2MB L2 cache, 6GB ECC memory. These machines are dedicated machines that we have on site.

Please remember that the Minimum requirement for posting on this board is the Vicidial Version With Build (You have supplied the version, but not the build).

ACL error means you either did not restore the IP of the requesting machine or perhaps missed a reboot when you finished setting everything back where it was.

Your acl settings either are blocking the registration attempt because that "client phone" is using the wrong IP or because your server still has the wrong IP, but it's still an IP based error.

Where do I find the build version (pardon my ignorance on this).

I have rebooted the server but I still receive the same error.

Where do I check the IP settings. From a database standpoint those settings all seem to be pointing at the correct IP. Are there any file contents that would help to see what the issue might be?

If you are not positive you changed everything back the way it was ... you would do well to run the admin update server ip script located in /usr/share/astguiclient. Directions available by running the script (just like any other Vicidial script in that folder) with "--help" as an argument. ie: "perl xxxxx.pl --help" (replace xxxxx with the actual script name). Run that script one time for each possible prior IP address of this server (never hurts to run it too often, it won't do anything if that prior IP isn't found), and reboot when done.

If you still have problems with ACL, it is possible that the phone in question registered from another IP at some point and asterisk has locked it to that IP (or another phone registered from this ip, and now asterisk won't let any other phone register from this ip!). You may want to (at least temporarily) turn off acl entirely (asterisk setting, changes over the versions and you're using an old one, so let google find the proper acl setting ... I don't have it memorized ... or you could ask gardo, he seems to use ACL settings a lot if I recall correctly).
