Capturing the voicemail greeting - without using live agents

Postby ece2k2 » Thu Oct 18, 2012 9:11 pm

Hi,

I am looking to capture the voicemail greeting for a bunch of telephone numbers. Please let me know if there is an option in Vicidial that would automatically dial the specified list of telephone numbers and record the voicemail greetings - without involving live agents.

Thanks,
Raja.

1) Welcome to the party! 8-)

2) when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

3) After you finish reading up on the options in the manual, if the recording options are not clear enough feel free to come back and ask for clarification.

4) If you really did just want to know "can it ...": Yes.

Hi WIlliam,

#1 - Thank you very much

#2 - Please let me know if the following info is adequate (it is a single server and I am using the eyeBeam softphone to make the calls):
VERSION: 2.2.1-237
BUILD: 100510-2015
Linux goautodial 2.6.18-194.8.1.e15
Asterisk 1.4.27.1-1 RPM built by root @ go-desktop on a i686 running Linux on 2010-07-21
I used a consultant to get the install done a few years back and I believe that he did the installation from scratch (based on CentOS).

#3 - We have been using the recording option for the calls we make through Vicidial (using live agents) and there has been no issues with that.

#4 - Being a newbie in configuring Vicidial, I just couldn't understand how to configure Vicidial to automatically make calls for a set of leads, automatically detect whether there is a system message or voicemail greeting for every call, record that system message or voicemail greeting entirely and hang up just before the voicemail at the other end starts recording. I am trying to get this done because I would like to eliminate the live agents from this process - as all they do is to passively listen to the call, wait for the message to start and disconnect at the end of the system message or voicemail greeting.

I look forward to your inputs.

Thanks,
Raja.

1) You're welcome

2) Your ssh splash screen will often contain information pertinent to the installation method. GoAutoDial is an .iso installer and has two versions available (2.0 and 2.1).

4) The Free AMD in asterisk can be used, but does not record while it is "doing its thing". It does have a wait-for-silence option and obviously the AMD routine could be altered to record while waiting. The available options are in the Campaign settings and have AMD in the field.
