IntelĀ® ItaniumĀ® processor 9000 with 16 MB RAM.
Can above Processor Support 50 seats ??
All Outbnd
All Recording
Only SIP
1:4 Dial Ratio Max
G729 Codec
I am trying to avoid multiple server but I know thats the way to go ahead for good and perfect setup using Load Balancing.

How reliable do you want it to be?
Do you have any possibility of moving the G729 transcoding off to a hardware card or another machine?

1) Correction : 16 mb to 16 GB
2) Reliability : Has to be there
3) Always Software based G729 Codecs.
4) G729 from Digium and from lvhosting.. Difference in performance ?
I actually Tried Quadcore with 30 seats with 4 GB Ram and it was smooth.

G729 software transcoding kills your processor, cuts your total capacity in half.

What if all same but using G711 ?

Maybe, we haven't tested that exact kind of setup though because you get better and more consistent results as well as more redundancy by spending less money and getting more lower-level servers to distribute that load.

I have seen Consultant in India recommending 100 seats on Core2Duo.
Wow.. !!
But that help in bringing BAD name to the Vici and Not to the Consultant.

Well, it's not like that is impossible, on a multi-server system for one of our clients(dedicated DB and web servers) we have had one server that handled 100 agents, inbound only 1:1 line ratio with full recording and it worked just fine.

They do 50 with outbnd at 1:4 Max level and all recordings.

It's possible. However, you missed the point. As Matt mentioned, it's better to spread the load on less expensive servers than have it all on one expensive server.
