Who is in charge of the Ubuntu Vicibox version now?

I noted in another post that someone stated that the ubuntu distro was essentially abandoned.

mcargile here at the ViciDial Group was managing it, but because of Ubuntu's inconsistent updates that would break installation frequently and the difficulty of updating the ISO(it takes many times longer than doing so with OpenSuSE), we have decided not to spend the time to maintain it going forward.
If someone else would like to spend this time we would be happy to host it and keep that ISO available, but it was becoming a drain on our resources to keep an ISO that we were not even using ourselves updated and working.

Interesting concept.
How about an "Alternate OS" forum, with "Vicibox Classic" as its first victim. (Thus allowing redux to "become" vicibox).
If you could send/publish the source for the .iso generation as it is now, we could at least bring it up to 2.2.1 (assuming we have time in the next month to bring it up ...)

exactly, OpenSuSE uses "RPMs" you know
Although their RPM management is far superior to how Red-hat does it...

It's been a long time since I've used a SUSE distro. Probably need to catch up on what they're up to now. Can't say if it's more superior since RedHat has Fedora as it's playground. And we know that Fedora is bleeding edge.
Is Opensuse still using Yast as it's package manager?

OpenSuSE does use yast, and I have not had any problems with it at all once I got use to using it.

clunky at first, but then again by comparison to the command line it's way cool. purely a question of "getting used to it".
