Did Intel i7 core processor work well with your setup on production..
What i did test is only Intel i3 core as per testing not yet on production its very responsive using Ubuntu 10.04.1, which i believe intel i3 is only a mult thread capable but no Turboboost technology which are present only on i5 and i7.

looks like im going to get the Intel™ Core i7™ 970 (SLBVF) 3.20 ghz (six core) 8mb 4.28 gt/s
