setup asterisk with dahdi

while installing vicidial in my ubuntu 10.10, i was gettin an error installing zaptel, after googlin, i found out that i d better use dahdi, i then installed Dahdi without problem...
BUT IT SEEMS vicidial is strongly linked with asterisk, libpri and zaptel... am just a bit skeptical in proceeding
any advice?

Yep. Install with Vicibox 1.0.0rc2 if you MUST have Ubuntu (you can then upgrade to the latest version via a simple SVN path). If you would like to reduce your stress level, install Vicibox Redux 3.1.3.

Vicidial works with Asterisk trunks and extensions. Dahdi and Zaptel help to provide them and manage their interactivity with meetme rooms. Vicidial itself has no preference (or interest for that matter) ... as long as commands to make calls are not ignored because something is missing.
