How do you use the callerid of the called party as the callerid when you transfer a call to another pbx?

If you're using Vicidial version 2.2 and up you can check the "3-Way Call Outbound CallerID" settings in your Campaign settings.

its also on 2.4, any ideas how to do it automatically

As I said 2.2 and up (which includes 2.4). It's all automatic if you follow my advice and set your "3-Way Call Outbound CallerID" in the campaign settings.

Hi Admins, sorry for bumping this old thread. I am trying to set up a caller ID like the one above mentioned. Two quick questions please.

1. Just to clarify, is this feature only possible at 2.2 and above?
2. How do we check the vici version? I search everywhere but there's no command online that shows you how to do this. I have root access to the server by the way.

post the version and build from the admin.php webpage.

The Vicidial Version is listed on almost every Administration page in the lower left corner. Unfortunately in some GoAutoDial installed versions of Vicidial, the fact that this is "Vicidial version XXX" is not obvious as the GoAutoDial logo has been inserted above the Version information. However: If you are in Vicidial and you see a Version ... it's the Vicidial version.

Hi guys,

I have followed your instructions about the "3-Way Call Outbound CallerID" you mentioned here. The "3-Way Call Outbound CallerID" field is set to "CUSTOMER" so if the call is transferred, the person who received the transferred call should see the phone number of the called party right?
But what could be the problem if the first digit is seen like somewhat replaced? Like you called "1234567890" then you transferred the call and the receiver sees "D234567890". Sometimes it's the UID that is being displayed.

1) Welcome to the Party! 8-)

2) Please state the precise step by step description of how you are transferring the calls, and the path that they are taking. (Button for button during the transfer as well ...)

3) when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

where can i see or how would i know the first field sir?
what's the field before the processor sir?

----------

first, i can either manually call a phone number or wait until the predictive dialing passes a call.
then i click "park call" button.
then "transfer-conf" button.
some buttons and options appear bellow.
the field "number to call" is prepopulated by a certain number so all i have to do is click the "dial with customer" button.
phone number rings. call connected. then the receiver of the transferred call is supposed to see the phone number of the person i called.
and that's where the problem is, the receiver sees some alphanumeric set of characters and the phone number underneath it which, they said, is supposed to be just the phone number of the person i called.
then at the end of conversation, i can either hangup both lines or leave 3-way call.

Ordinarily in the "splash/welcome screen" when you log in via ssh.
mareconvy wrote:what's the field before the processor sir?
You already listed the processor, but you can also try "cat /var/log/boot.msg | grep CPU0" and also (for the motherboard) "dmidecode | grep Product"

Campaign settings Check:
Manual Dial CID
3-Way Call Outbound CallerID (perhaps try "agent choose" and see if that has an effect?)

What dial plan is being used to connect these calls? Can you show the command line interface output from Asterisk to show an example of a "bad" result?

ViciBox Redux v.3.1.10 released

cat /var/log/boot.msg | grep CPU0 = "<6>[ 0.179901] CPU0: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 215 Processor stepping 02"
dmidecode | grep Product = "Product Name: N61PB-M2S
Product Name: N61PB-M2S"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Manual Dial CID = CAMPAIGN
3-Way Call Outbound CallerID = CUSTOMER

by the way, the receiver sees those things on eyebeam.
I've tried using another server and got the same results.
i also tried dialing a number and transfer it to our inbound number but it was okay on vicidial agent user interface.
i am not just sure if there's a difference sending callerID to a softphone and vicidial interface.

i'll try to test a call with a previous setting for Manual Dial CID and 3-Way Call Outbound CallerID then get the asterisk logs. then try another test call with the setting that you mentioned. i will then post the results.

Have you tried it without parking the customer?

nope. it is needed to park the customer first before transferring the call. some kind of call protocol.

perhaps you should try it as a test ...

hi.

we tried changing voip provider and the problem was solved. i guess it is something with the location of the provider or something. like when the call passes through a voip provider that is based in Canada, the callerID sent contains the name and number or UID and phone number. a more experienced voip administrator told me about that.
i'm not sure either

but now, we are facing a different problem after that.
most of the calls are timed out and an error appears saying "dial time out. contact your administrator".
i may have changed some fields on the campaign settings or sip settings. i'm not sure.

i'm already looking for similar issues in the forums. i guess i'd be joining the other conversations as well.

thank you so much for all the help sir. i really appreciate it

look at the command line interface in asterisk when the call is generated. this will contain the details of the generation of the call and the response from the provider which often contains a reason for call death (even if it doesn't contain a valid reason, at least it tells you that the provider killed the call, not your vicidial server's control).

Welcome to the Party! 8-)

Here are some helpful hints (to get your help faster ... for instance ...):

when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

I seriously suggest you read the Manager's Manual and follow the exercises in it from page one to the end. Don't skip anything.

Somewhere in there, you will find that the callerid is set on each campaign. You will also find that the Three Lines in the "Sample SIP configuration" are all required. Without all three, vicidial functions will fail (like setting the CallerID for instance ...). :)

Happy Hunting! 8-)
