We've finished the newest release: 2.0.2
For this release, we have made many changes to the server side, including changing logging from AGI to FastAGI resulting in a great performance boost on high-volume VICIDIAL systems. We have also tested the suite on Asterisk versions through 1.2.14(cannot use 1.2.11 or 1.2.12 because of Asterisk bugs)
Please download and let me know what you think.

I would not recommend using Asterisk 1.4 at this time. It still has several issues, like some pretty big SIP problems, that need to be resolved before I would recommend it.
As for OS, CentOS is the only one that I have seen unfixable problems on, and it's important to mention that most users of CentOS do NOT have problems with it.
I have heard from people using many different Linux distros with VICIDIAL, and as long as it's standard Linux, and you have all of the proper apps loaded, VICIDIAL will run on it.
I still recommend Slackware though.

Not too much, here are the changes from 2.0.2b3:
- widened the vicidial.php interface
- fixed iframe bug in SCRIPT tab for loading external web pages inside of SCRIPT tab
- added voice_lab/speech lab/campaign broadcast experimental feature
- updated the multi-language builds
