Does anyone have an ETA on when 2.4 will be released? Some of our team is uncomfortable with using SVN but would like to use some of the new features.

interesting. didja know that SVN is merely the method to download the software (it can also be used to download the latest release or any earlier release, and even apply bug fixes to the latest stable release or earlier releases if fixes come out after you have installed).

perhaps you meant "developer trunk" is what makes them nervous.

we have many clients (seriously), and about 5-10% are using 2.2.1 (latest stable release). We still have about that same amount using 2.0.5 (the prior stable release). Everyone else is in 2.4.X developer trunk originally downloaded using SVN, and some use periodic updates with SVN.

Those on 2.0.5 have used SVN to apply bug fixes (those which are available), and the same applies to 2.2.1. Although I don't remember the last time I had one update those versions, it has been a while. LOL

Ok I used the wrong terminology there, and idea when the 2.4 trunk will be the main stable release rather than the development release?

When we get done with our current backlog of "urgent" paid development we will be able to fork 2.4 to a branch and start working on the manual updates, which will probably take a while because of all of the new features that have been added. No ETA yet, but it is a priority of ours.

And the amount of documentation this round will be monumental. There have been a LOT of additions. Wow. 600 pages? LOL

Given the number of features and the level of complexity of some of them I am thinking about 60-80 new pages, but it could grow beyond that.
