using cepstral prompts

Hi
We are using go autodial 2.1, centos, vicidial VERSION: 2.4-309a BUILD: 110430-1642

We have also setup cepstral on the system, and it is tested and working.
TTS is also enabled on the dialler, and we have the text to speech section which allows us to add TTS prompts.

Unfortunately the manual does say ANYWHERE how to incorporate those TTS prompts into a campaign
For example I may want to use them in a broadcast or a survey.
The manual says I can do it, but doesnt mention how!

So once I have setup my TTS prompts, how do I invoke them within a campaign???

Page 52, Tutorial S.

I would also recommend upgrading your vicidial installation to at least 2.4rc2 or current svn/trunk, there are a lot of bug that have been fixed in the last year.

Sounds like you have the old manual and an old version of Vicidial. If you can't upgrade to a recent version then there isn't much I can do to help you.

The only thing you'll lose that's worthy is the cuter interface. Your price for "pretty interface": It's not compatible with the newer code. Can't have it both ways.

On the brighter side, GoAutoDial is an excellent installer and can easily be upgraded to the latest code if you're prepared to give up the pretty agent screen. Works VERY well with the standard upgrade method. Still very stable. CentOS is solid and Gardo did a great job with it.

But apparently no one has paid him to bring the pretty interface screen up to "trunk" as yet.

OK, Ive downloaded the latest manual

The manual says that I should put the following entry into the survey:
TTS{tts_id}

for example, I have a TTS prompt which has an id of message1
so it would be entered as TTSmessage1 as the survey prompt
When I do that, nothing happens, I get the following message on the console:
[2012-08-02 11:52:06] WARNING[24079]: file.c:665 ast_openstream_full: File TTSmessage1 does not exist in any format

So why doesnt it work? Ive followed the manual exactly!

What version of Cepstral did you install?

How did you install Cepstral exactly?

What Cepstral licenses did you buy?

And how did you verify that it is working? Did you hear it? (Or did you just install it and assume that means it works?)

Code: Select all
asterisk -rx "core show application swift"

Vicidial uses Cepstral in batch mode, not directly through Asterisk. It will work if the swift module is not activated.

True, but then again if it isn't activated ... the rest of the install may also have failed. But if it's active it's likely installed.

We have clients now who use external (asterisk 1.6/1.8) Cepstral servers to "serve" TTS to vicidial servers. The new voices seem to have improved enough to convince clients to purchase licensing for the In Channel voices (and the licensing model is a bit different, too, which is nice).
