Hi,
I am using a remote dialer right now on a dedicated server. Ping time from Philippines to a California US Data Center is 170ms-185ms. From our location, this is considered very good already.
I have one option to move the dialer to a good data center in Dallas but ping time will be 220ms-240ms. The reason for the move is to have better hardware without breaking the bank.
What are your thoughts for a 220-240ms? Will the VOIP calls still be good provided the internet connection is stable?
Thank you and looking forward for your reply.

do a mtr from your dialer to the server to check for packet loss and number of hops, a mtr is more informative than a ping test since ping tests only give the latency from the endpoint ip. To do a mtr test login to your server then type:
#. mtr your.voice.providers.ip.address
also you should use g729 codec and make sure your internet connection has the same upload and download speed
