Hi I am on the hunt for the SVN for the Vicidial version
VERSION: 2.2.0-234
BUILD: 100116-0718

My boss wants the two new servers that we brought to be on the same old VERSION due to issues with the latest version connecting to the old vicidial database.

As we have a lot of data in our mysql database we can afford to run the mysql database update which we are unsure and worried it will break our old vicidial which currently our agents are using. If Vicidial or anyone has a copy or a step to step on how to get a copy and install it on a new asterisk (CentOS) that would be great.

You can always checkout the specific svn version that your system was installed with. Just go to /usr/src/astguiclient/trunk and run "svn info" and see what version you are running.

But you should really consider upgrading to the more recent svn/trunk versions to get the bug fixes, security enhancements and new features that are available.

better bet; build the new server with the latest vicidial

test it to be sure it's capable of autodial (put in one campaign/list/lead/phone/carrier and test it in autodial mode) to be sure it's a Working Vicidial.

back up the db in that latest vicidial (as a stopping point, since it worked).

back up the DB in the old server and copy it to the new server and insert it in place of the freshly installed db

upgrade the old DB

run the ip update script and reboot.

you'll have a fresh system with no risk to the old one, but with ALL your data in it still intact.

we've had clients do this in VMware and then (knowing it will work) install a fresh copy of Vicidial in the live server and push the VMware database back onto the server already updated and ready to go. the VMware version is only good for one call, but it's excellent for seeing that all your data is there and the system still works properly. one agent can go through all the steps well enough to convince management it will work.

or just pay someone to upgrade your system. that works, too. we've also had a few clients who had us upgrade it from their server into one of ours, and used it here for a month while upgrading the local machine. NO danger at all to the old machine because it's not touched until the new one has been online full speed for an entire work-week.
