I am looking forward to setup a Clustered Vicidial Solution for 1500 Agents call center solution. The calls will be both inbound and outbound. But about 80% of the calls will be outbound with predictive dialing. I have a few queries:
1. Will Mysql be able handle this much data as we will also be recording all calls.
2. How many Servers would i need?
3. Which dedicated server provider should i choose?
The latest Vicidial comes with Asterisk 1.8 and it does not support Asterisk 11 and above. Will Asterisk 1.8 be able to handle these number of calls?
Kindly share your thoughts.

What is the line to agent ratio that you are going for?
What SIP codec are you planning to use with your carrier?
Do you have a carrier that will give you thousands of lines of capacity guaranteed?
I swear that I've heard the "we are planning a 1000+ seat call center" line dozens of times. I've never seen one make it past 550 seats. What makes your project different that you are actually going to get to 1500 seats?

Thanks for your reply.
We are looking to use G729a and gsm codecs. Yes our carrier has guaranteed 1000+ lines.
Thanks.

The Mysql server would need to be the biggest baddest server you can get your hands on. i.e. 24 cores (super fast) 256 megs + of ram 4+ SSD drives. 6 (or so), 8 core 16+ ram and SSD drives for the Web Servers. At least 75 asterisks servers, 20 agents on each server. You could probably get away with 60 asterisk boxes but once your at 60 might as well get 75.
Archive server for recordings, FTP, etc, and a slave replication server for the MySql.
These are just recommendations based on what I have read here and my own experience with 100 agents.

I've got 250 agents on one mysql 24core +HT 128GB PCI SSD and twelve dialing blades in supermicro microclouds (2 X 8 blade units) with 4core Xeon 16GB 2 SSD and timing card in each. I'm constantly running into issues with mysql locking tables anytime I try to load list statistics or change dial ratio. I'm running at around 12 ratio. I can only imagine a larger system would inevitably be more temperamental.

We have a client with 20 dialers placing over 1.5 million calls a day, and they don't have any MySQL issues. If everything is set up properly you can have a very large system that runs very smoothly.

I was under the impression that HT is not a good idea.
