What is really recommended for an efficient Answering Machine Detection aside from the native of the Vicidial?
Is it hardware or software?

Can somebody share me with your experiences?

The only functional option for 3rd-party AMD is Khomp, which we've been working on the integration with for about 3 years now. It's not perfect but we do have several clients that really like how it works for them. Here are a couple of links with more information on the KHOMP <-> VICIdial integration:
