I am setting up a 4 agent call center (I want to move it up to 12 agents later) . I am going to be calling for charities and there wont be any incoming calls. I will be calling residential locations. I am going to use a DSL or Cable connection. I have new Dell machines C2D on all 4 agent stations and a server that I built. The Dell's have usb Headsets Plantronics .audio 350. My question is what kind of VOIP service should I use? IAX2 or SIP? I was looking at going with IAX2 here http://www.adamstelecom.net/buyonline.html

Hi

both are Good

depend on your requirement you need to use

using SIP would give you advantage compare to IAX, since many providers support

I tried to fill everyone in on all of my known requirements. Is there something else that is needed to know in order to make a decision? I aso included the provider link adamstelecom.com which sell iax2 lines for $10 per phone line for unlimited outgoing calls. My question is more to better understand the differences and advantages of the 2 protocol options.

Hi

for PD requirement, you need to have multi channel account

rather phone accounts.

Don't go for $10 unlimited type of packages if you planning for serious voip traffic , such packages are mostly for home users and even if not providers have limit like 1 call at a time or maybe 2 . Go for flat rate per minute wholesale providers which don't have channel limits .

I was actually planning on purchasing 1 - $10 per line being used by vicidial. Is there still a problem with this?

for testing with one agent fine

but for a commercial call center requirement,
its not the best.

I have been using adams telecom for about six months so far and I have had no problems.

When signing up customer service was very friendly and helpful and the woman even suggested certain asterisk or trixbox configurations.

I use the 10$ plan with vividial and I will continue to. Also each plan allows for more than one simoultanious call. Its two channels per line. Its a perfect deal! :)

PS. I think they have a business plan if you ask for it. It is meant for more simoultanious channels/calls
