PHP optimizer/cacher to test

I was just referred to this site:
http://turck-mmcache.sourceforge.net/

There is a PHP pre-compiler/cache utility that is supposed to dramatically reduce load on Apache/PHP for VICIDIAL usage.

I don't have time to test this right now but I would appreciate some feedback if others have the ability to test mmcache.

Hello Matt,

so this is another program to help lower the load?

thanks

That's what I've been told, looks like the code base hasn't been touched in 3 years, but it seems stable.

This will only lower the load for PHP, this will not affect Asterisk or VICIDIAL load in any other way.

I have tested this, and it makes a HUGE difference. even on a beefy webserver, compiling from scratch all the php pages takes a lot of load.

with MMcache, it's hardly working hard again, even with 50 agents.

Check out this:

http://eaccelerator.net/

It's a fork of mmcache and has seen much more recent development. Version 0.9.5 was released on 2006-10-11.

I put this into production today and it is working great. The load on the dedicated Apache/PHP servers is down over 70%.

I've added the installation instructions to the SCRATCH_INSTALL doc in SVN and I've added a HOWTO page on the Wiki as well:
