Postby THUFIR » Sun Jun 15, 2014 7:43 pm

what's the difference between

Asterisk v.1.8.23.0-vici

and

11.8.1 (10 March 2014; 2 months ago) [±]

Are those both 11.8.*, or 1.8.*?

Vicidial does not currently support Asterisk 11 or Asterisk 12. We like to wait for all of the developers to move out of an Asterisk branch(and the maintainers and bug fixers to move in) before we start working with it.

The Asterisk 1.8 branch is the most recent version that we support.

To actually answer your question, Digium decided a few years ago that they would never change the core of Asterisk. As such the 1 at the beginning of their version numbers was basically meaningless. As such they dropped the 1. So the version that came after Asterisk 1.8 was Asterisk 10. It was a short term release which they have already discontinued supporting. The next long term release is asterisk 11 which as Matt said we will eventually add support for once the tinkerers/developers have moved from Asterisk 11 to Asterisk 12.

Temporary solution: Disable logging of admin searches if you're linked to the slave db.

Or force placement of that log entry into the master even though you're connected to the slave.
