recordings help for .gsm format

Hi

1.The recordings saved in the format .gsm are not playing(folder /var/spool/asterisk/monitorDONE/MP3).
2.The recordings saved in the format .mp3 are playing fine.
3.If i convert those .gsm recordings to .mp3 the issue is same.

I am using goautodial 2.1 and digium pri card.

its because the question is a bit strange, well there is no question in fact ^^

* are the gsm-recordings saved in the MP3 folder?
* how do you convert them to mp3?
* how do you know that its mp3 or gsm format? (you should use the command: file) because file extension means nothing to the format
* run the scripts in debug mode and look for clues also check the logs.
