<Solved> Create an inbound-group, take calls

Postby paruchurup » Sat Jul 06, 2013 8:40 am

Hi

astguiclient-2.7 rc1 | Asterisk 1.4.44 | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | XLite | RedHat Linux |Scratch Install - http://astguiclient.sourceforge.net/scr ... stall.html |

I am following the tutorial section F in the manager manual.

Expected functionality : I want to set up in bound call centre system. When a customer calls an agent from his SIP softphone, one of the agents in that group should be able to pick the call in the vicidial agent gui and can be able to see the customer information.

1. created Inbound group: SALESLINE
2. created DID : 8002277655
    Extension: 9998811112
    serverIP : <my server ip>
User Route setting in group: SALESLINE
In Hroup call handle method : CID
In Group Agent search method: CB

3. create campaign : TEST_IN
    minimim hopper level: 5
    Dial method: Ratio
-> Haven't added any leads into this campaign.
(Also added a list and added one lead with phone 601, not sure if it is required, but even then it didn't work)

4. created phone : 8002277655
    extension:8002277655
    voice mail: 8002277655
5. Created the user : 1001
    user group: AGENTS
    phone login: 201
6. Logged in as the user 1001 in agent gui.
7. Logged in as phone extension 601 from XLite and tried calling the number '8002277655' . It went to voicemail. But the didn't come in agent gui.

Please let me know how to configure here.

Thanks

When I set this up on mine, my agents had to be in the Resume posistion in order to recieve the calls. Try logging in as the agent, then going to resume. Then call your DID and see if you get the call.

I would make sure you can view the Call Queue as well, and watch that when you are logged in as the agent to make sure the call is actually incoming or not.

You did not route the call to the Ingroup. Perhaps you should tell us what line/page you are on. It seems as if you found the entry in the manual to perform this task, then made up your own version of how to do it without following the manual. LOL

Have you tried setting this up according to the manual's instructions, step by step? Word for word? What version of the Manual are you using? (2.4? Paid or Free?)

Thanks hiadviser.I clicked on Resume button but still didn'get the call.

Yes William, I followed the guide step by step, when it didn't work I tried some of my own. Only thing which I changed from the guide is given a different nubme 1001 instead of 7777 as the login userid. And assiging the list to this campaign, it was not given in the guide.

Another thing I tried is creating the phone with the DID number which I gave while creating DID entry. I understood that manual is talking about real phone number.
I am using version 2.4 of free manager manual.

If you tried the manager's manual version and it did not work, you should go back to that version and tell us the page/line where it did not work and what part of it did not work. ADHD is not something we resolve here on this forum. 8-) (Especially since we all have it.)

Re: Create an inbound-group, point a DID at it, and take cal

Postby paruchurup » Sun Jul 07, 2013 8:50 am

I am following section F in manager's manual version 2.4. Sorry this has become a big post to read as I have given clearly all the steps

(given in maual)
1. Find out from your carrier(phone line provider) what they will be sending your calls to you as.
Many carriers will only send you the last 4 digits of the number that has been called. You will need this
information to setup your system properly. For this tutorial we will use 800-227-7655 as the inbound

800 number and our provider will send us all 10 digits for these inbound calls(i.e. 8002277655). For
more information on setting up a carrier within VICIdial, take a look at tutorial C above.

(what I have done)

I don't have the requirement of a calling from PSTN. I have requirement that I will get SIP call from softphone. I have chosen this number as 8002277655 as the inbound number.
I haven't set up carrier now. I have set up carrier as part of previous tutorial for outbound campaign, that also didn't work, I left that config now and started with this as this is priority.

(given in maual)

3.Go to the INBOUND section of the VICIdial admin website and click on the ADD A NEW INGROUP.
4. For this tutorial we will use the following values for the fields on the NEW IN-GROUP form:
Group ID: SALESLINE
Group Name: Primary Sales Line
Group Color: red
Active: Y
Web Form: <we leave this blank> If you have a CRM, put its search page address here.
Voicemail: <we leave this blank>
Next Agent Call: oldest_call_finish
Fronter Display: Y
Script: NONE
Get Call Launch: NONE

(what I have done)
Followed exctly as give in the above two steps.

(given in maual)

The next step is to create the DID(Direct Inward Dialing, also known as DDI, Direct Dial-In) entry
that will send the incoming call to the in-group that we just created. To get to the ADD A NEW DID
ENTRY page you need to be in the INBOUND section, then you can click on the ADD NEW DID
link.
On the Create DID page you will put the following values in:
DID Extension: 8002277655
DID Description: Inbound 800 number

(what I have done)
Followed exctly as give in the above steps.

(given in maual)

Then you will click submit to create the DID entry and you will see more options which you should
modify:
Active: Y
DID Route: IN_GROUP
In-Group ID: SALESLINE (this is the in-group that we created above)
In-Group Call Handle Method: CID
In-Group Agent Search Method: LB
In-Group Phone Code: 1
<we will leave the other fields in their default values>

(what I have done)
Followed exctly as give in the above steps.

(given in maual)

10. For this tutorial we will use the following for the fields on the NEW CAMPAIGN form:
Campaign ID: TEST_IN
Campaign Name: Closer and inbound campaign
Active: Y
<we will leave park extension, park filename and web form blank for this tutorial>
Allow Closers: Y
Hopper Level: 5
Auto Dial Level: 1
Next Agent Call: oldest call finish
Local Call Time: 24hours
<we will leave voicemail, script and get call launch blank for this tutorial>

11. Click submit then click on the “Detail View” link near the top of the screen to go to the Campaign
Detail Modification screen. Here you need to change the “Allow Inbound and Blended ” field to “Y”
and the “Dial Method” field to “RATIO”.

12. Click submit and scroll down to the "Allowed Inbound Groups" section and check the box for
SALESLINE then click the SUBMIT button to commit the changes.

(what I have done)
Followed exactly as give in the above steps.

(given in maual)

13. Now that you have your in-group set up, you should have your agent log into the VICIdial client
application: http://server-address/vicidial/welcome.php

14. On the agent login screen you will need to enter in the phone login and phone password for the
phone that the agent will be using(you can look the phone login and phone passwords up in the
admin.php → Admin → Phones section) then click submit.
15. You will then need to enter in your username(7777) and password(1234) and select your
campaign(TEST_IN) then click submit.

(what I have done)
Logged in as phone login: 201, user login as 1001 which I created previously and selected TEST_IN campaign.

(given in maual)

You should now be logged in as agent 7777 and your phone should ring to place you into your
VICIdial session

(what I have done)
From XLite I logged in withe phone extension 201, and as I logged into vicidial agent gui, my phone rang. I clicked on Answer.

(given in maual)

17. Because you logged into an inbound/closer-enabled campaign, you should now see a green screen
with the listing of all in-groups. Click on the SALESLINE group in the left side column and then click
SUBMIT at the bottom of the screen. There is also a BLENDED check-box on this green screen. You
would select that if you want to do blended calling where outbound calls are placed from that campaign
while agents are also taking inbound calls.

(what I have done)
clicked the SALESLINE group in left and it has come right and selected the BLENDED check box and clicked on submit.

(given in maual)
18. Since the campaign is set to a dial level of one (1) you are in auto dial mode and will need to click
the RESUME button to make yourself available to take inbound calls.

(what I have done)
Clicked on RESUME button

(given in maual)
19. When a call comes into the 800 number, the customer's callerID and possibly name or location
should appear in the VICIdial agent screen fields as well as the status bar at the top changing to the
color red(which we set in the in-group screen earlier).

(what I have done)
I have logged in on Linphone with phone extension as 601 (already created this phone in the system under phones). Adn tried calling the number 8002277655. Now I don't see the result as given in the above step. Here is the problem

Please help me to do this configuration.
Thanks

Here is the Asterisk CLI output

[Jul 7 09:54:42] NOTICE[525]: chan_sip.c:15765 handle_request_invite: Call from '601' to extension '8002277655' rejected because extension not found.

I tried creating the phone under Phones in admin gui, with extension as 8002277655. After that when I can this number from SIP softphone with extension 601, I get a auto message that user not available.

Start at the beginning of the Manual and work your way to the DID configuration. It is not possible to "skip stuff" as the earlier stuff is required for the later stuff to work.

You're making up your own version of how Vicidial will work. And it's failing. Because you do not want to be bothered with doing all of it in order. ADHD. Start at the beginning and work your way to the end like everyone else or "battle" your way through and take several weeks.

I'd love to help you with that battle, but I don't have time right now. If, on the other hand, you were actually attempting to do this the right way, it would take very little effort and time to help you. Since I also have ADHD, that's all I have the attention span for.

Thanks William, you answers are really inspiring me to read Asterisk guide entirely. But I don't have that much time to read that guide and come here and fix my issue, anyhow I started reading that book.

Domdan,

you have helped me previously where I did wrong (time synchrnozationn problem, database sql_mode issue.._) and I was able to set up system. I am very much thankful to you for your help.

I request you to look at this post and see if you can guide me here.

I followed all the tutorials given in the Manager manual except section D( as my current reuqirement is not on outbound and predictivie dialing. I tried it , it didn't work, I thought I will see it later)

Here I am doing turoial F for setting Inbound call center system.

thanks in advance.

Sorry can't help you, I'm not that familiar with inbound,
tried it once a long time ago but I didn't need the agent interface for the small scale inbound we do, so I don't got that knowledge.

No problem.. Thanks DomeDan.
I started reading the Asterisk definitive guide to understand how it works and how to do this using only asterisk. I understand on a high level that it is done using agents.conf or using queues. Then I will come back to vicidial and check if it is updating required config files accordingly and what went wrong with my setup. May be it will take some time, if I get success I will post the solution here...

Because I am not able to move forward by only reading vicidial manager manual because it has only functional details not technical details..

Pls feel free to correct my approach if I am going in the right direction.

Meanwhile if anyone is having any clue/hints for this post, I will check here.

Thanks

The vicidial manager's manual will show you how to configure inbound. If you start at the beginning and work your way to the end without skipping anything, inbound will be set up during the process.

If you try to use asterisk queues instead, you may as well install FreePBX instead. It'll be easier. Partially because that method is in NO way compatible with Vicidial. But you won't have an outbound autodialer if you use FreePBX, of course.

Now I am getting the call in agent gui, problem was because extensions.conf was missing with the below data.
Code: Select all
exten => _8002277655,1,AGI(agi-DID_route.agi)
; DID forwarded calls
exten => _99909*.,1,Answer
exten => _99909*.,2,AGI(agi-VDAD_ALL_inbound.agi)
exten => _99909*.,3,Hangup

The real reason is that I have given option 'n' for overriding the asterisk conf files while installing astguiclient. Now I resinstalled it with option 'y'

Problem now:

When I am calling the DID number, in the agent gui it shows in the top that Incoming call from 601..., and top left it shows LIVE CALL for a moment and then it displays

Customer has hung up: SIP/601-0000002c
Go Back

Finish and Disposition Call

I don't see any Answer button in the agent gui to answer the call nor I get the call on the agent soft phone...
Can anyone has any clue what I need to do...

thanks

Post the asterisk CLI from when the call connects and until you get the "customer has hung up" message.

My comments :
Though I see below entry in exntensions.conf,
Code: Select all
[trunkinbound]

; DID call routing process
; exten => _XXXXXXXXXX,1,AGI(agi-DID_route.agi)  ; use this one instead of the one below if you are having delay issues, and match to number of received digits
exten => _X.,1,AGI(agi-DID_route.agi)

I have to enter below line in [default] context for this to work

exten => _8002277655,1,AGI(agi-DID_route.agi)
