who can install asterisk 1.2.14 successfully in FC6?

i install asterisk 1.2.14 in FC6 n i follows the instructions on scratch_install.html...

after i install it, i stuck in the create database for asterisk in SUBPHASE 6.1.
the file 'usr/src/astguiclient/MySQL_AST_CREATE_tables.sql' is not exist.
so how can create the tables???

i successfully install a softphone, SJPhone n i can call out but the recipient cant hear wat i say n i oso cant hear her voice... is it i miss out somethin during installation???

hi,

don't blindly follow the scratch install, file for creating the mysql tables are here /usr/src/astguiclient/extras/MySQL_AST_CREATE_tables.sql .

actually i din follow exactly from the scratch install bcos now i only install asterisk 1.2.14 without zaptel n libpri. is it ok with that?

i dunno is it i miss out some steps so i cant find the files such as '/etc/asterisk/meetme.conf', '/etc/asterisk/sip.conf', '/etc/asterisk/iax.conf', and etc.
Am i need to create these files by my own?

after make install of asterisk you make the sample files by running make sample and you will get all the files.

You don't have to follow scratch installation religiously... but 80% of it works fine and get installed as per the document....

If you are facing problem in Installing Asterisk 1.2.14 on FC6... post your problem, may be I can help to get through because I have installed 3 Asterisk servers on FC6 and they working fine...

thats because asterisk doesnt create its own confs without making samples. on astguiclient 2.0.3b3 the installer will ask you if you want some sample confs to go with it.

as per installation of asterisk, why dont you need to install zaptel and libpri? are you on a vps?
