Beep Sound Problem

Postby createch » Wed Aug 14, 2013 10:59 pm

We have a serious issue persisting at my center. We have a GoAutoDial. Asterisk Version 1.4

Everything had been working well till date, when we received complained from our agents about some strange beep sound. When i practically looked into the matter it seemed like when the dialer is throwing calls to the ports we hear a beep sound at an interval of every 1-2 seconds and sometimes it gives a beep sound and the call gets hung up. I thought this to be a carrier issue and hence have tried it with 3-4 carriers, but all the same. Re-installed the dialer but no changes either. Can anyone suggest me what might be the issue?

Did you do/see/experience anything unusual before it started happening?
And still there after a re-install! weird.

Post the output from the asterisk CLI of a call when this happen.
a quick and dirty "fix" might be to add the "q" flag (quiet) to the dialplan, but asterisk in clearly trying to tell you something is wrong so making it quiet is not a good long time solution

maybe its the softphone, some kind of 20-days-free-trial stuff you are using.
does it happen to all kind of softphones/hard-phones? try some other one if you haven't already

Asterisk Error is:

sometimes there are error 3929,3926,3943 with the same command

the "ast _carefulwrite: write{} returned error: Broken Pipe" is not the problem

post your carrier configuration, might be something there.

enable asterisk debugging and look for warnings and errors.

also: Did you do/see/experience anything unusual before it started happening?
and post the asterisk CLI output from a call

else wait for other people to see this thread and maybe recognize the behavior of your system.
