Solution: SLOWDOWN OF VICIDIAL

Postby chander.prakash » Sat Apr 07, 2007 2:29 pm

Dear friends,

It is true that the auto_calls_table keeps getting filled up with calls not dropped correctly. Each of these rows in MySQl blocks a channel. In effect your dialer speed will continue to slow down to

(total channels-blocked channels)

When you clear this table you will find a sudden clearance of all channels and the dialer will not maintain the dial ratio as specified and the ratio may jump dramatically.

We analysed this problem in depth and came up with a patch for all our installations 3 weeks back. Lo Behold ever since our dialer is behaving perfectly with no requirement to restart the server or clear the said table.

Since it is a major problem with almost all installations as can be seen from this forum, we have sent the patch to Matt for ratification and soon you should find it on this forum.

Over to you Matt. :D :D

Dear Aster1,

Please be patient. I understand the urgency, but I would want the patch to be officialy ratified by Matt and only then would I be in a position to post it.

I am sure that Matt is looking at it at this moment and should be getting back to us shortly. :D

You might want to post a link on this thread to the issue tracker listing with the patch on it, and specify which version of astguiclient it works with.

I must mention again that none of the installations I manage have this problem, most likely because all of them filter their leads to remove impossible phone numbers, the main cause of this problem. That of course can also be fixed by adding an entry to your dialplan to call call_log so the call is logged(which is the reason this problem happens).

me neither.

for all the installations i did, I never had any issues with the said problems that chander is saying.

Leads scrubbing should be done before you load it to the dialer in the first place.

chander I believe it will be much better if you just post it to the tracker and put up a link here.
