Time Synchronization error on Login

Postby themrrobert » Tue Aug 27, 2013 8:04 pm

Hello all :) Thanks in advance for the time and effort.

System specs: Vicidial system on Centos 6.4 installed from scratch.

Used this guide (mostly) and then upgraded to Asterisk 1.8.21.0-vici-beta
-link removed, title inserted- "How To install ViciDial/astGUIclient 2.4 RC 1 With Asterisk 1.4.21.2 On CentOS 6.2"
System Details:
CentOS 6.4
1 server configuration
Linux cpredictive.localhost 2.6.32-358.14.1.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Jul 16 23:51:20 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

VM inside virt-manager (planning on baremetalling later, but i'm hosting the hypervisor, and gave it 12 cores and 8GB ram (i can upgrade this)
2x virtio NIC's in bridged mode

Hypervisor:
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X7560 @ 2.27GHz
(16 cores x 2 HT) = 32 logical cores
32 GB Ram
4x Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5709 Nic

Station is for 50 - 100 agents, but I can't even get one working.

I've gone through the manual, the installer didn't create any conferences, and when I tried to log in my first user I got the error no sessions available, so I figured out to name the conferences 8600XXX and then that didn't work, so I had to add vicidial conferences, which I tried using 86003XX and then i tried 500XXX because meetme-vicidial.conf says 500
This worked (with 8600301 as the vici conference) but when I log in, my phone doesn't ring, and it keeps popping up the time synchronization message.

The time is off by about 2 seconds, but I don't think that's a big enough gap to mess it up, or cause the phone not to ring.
Edit: I sync'd the time and it's still doing it.

Outbound dialing works, with multiway audio.

The server IP is using the public/external ip exclusively, this was done to shortcut dealing with NAT because I have to get this running ASAP.

I am only seeing 1 error from /var/mail/root and that's the vm_update.pl script is timing out, not sure why.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

You got a few things to do,
find out why the phone does not ring on login, open the asterisk CLI:
rastersk
and watch what happens when you try to login a agent. post the output here if you're not sure what's going on

You need to find out why AST_vm_update.pl timeouts, because if that script is not running properly then you will experience the "synchronization issue".. which you are :P
run the script (/usr/share/astguiclient/AST_vm_update.pl) with the debug flag: -debug
and post the result here.
I had a problem with AST_vm_update.pl because the command "df" made it hang waiting for a timeout, can you successfully execute "df" on your server?

You wrote that this is a virtual system, I've read that vicidial aint working in a virtual environment, search on the forum for more information because I have no experience with it.
