Vicibox Web time wrong

Postby chasejordan1 » Wed Sep 18, 2013 12:40 pm

DB server is set in yast to USA, Pacific (Los Angeles), NTP is set to 0.north-america.pool.ntp.org, run NTP as daemon is checked, Save NTP config is checked, on yast screen time and date is correct. All other servers are set the same way except they are pointed to the DB server.

On all servers if I type date the date, time, and time zone are correct and synced. If I type date -u the date, time, and time zone are incorrect and 7 hours ahead and the time zone is UTC?????? WHY?

Lastly on the Web Server page the time shows 3 hours ahead (essentially EST time) on both of the asterisk servers web page shows 7 hours ahead but in system setting and all server setting the "default local GMT is set to -8.

Any thoughts on why this is happening and how I can fix it? Thank You.

So interesting, I logged in as an agent and the customer time is correct and on the agent page the local time is correct. Strange?

Thoughts?

date returns your time. date -u returns utc.

You should use one of the servers as your time source though. A pool of servers produces a pool of times.
