SOUTH AFRICA DIAL PLAN HEADACHE

Postby sphinx23 » Wed Sep 18, 2013 2:49 pm

Hi guys,

I need your expertise, can you lend me your help?! plss...
I'm having problems with goautodial, my calls won't push through and my logs shows error "no route to destination".
We are dialing south africa, i have really no idea why this error.

I think the issue is with my dialplan,

exten => _X.,1,AGI(agi://192.168.0.5:5060/call_log)
exten => _X.,2,NoOp(Dialing ${EXTEN})
exten => _X.,3,Dial(SIP/ECN2/00${EXTEN:1},,tTo)
exten => _X.,4,Hangup

Those anyone here have any idea on what is the correct dialplan to be used when dialing south africa, and please include also the account entry...
Please i need a response ASAP.

1) Welcome to the Party! 8-)

2) As you are obviously new here, I have some suggestions to help us all help you:

When you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

This IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

3) This is not about 'dialplan', it's about "have you set up the carrier". If the carrier is sending back that error, of course, I'm wrong. LOL. In that case you'd need to talk to the carrier to find out what the dial string must look like to place the call correctly.

4) If this error message is not being sent back by the carrier, you should post your carrier configuration. The whole thing. Change user/pass/ip references to fake entries (ie: instead of user=MyCompany, user=FredsCompany, and instead of password=815l1j5, password=555x555x). Don't put in "user=user" because we could think you actually have "user" as the "user" and question it. LOL

Happy Hunting! 8-)

PS: You should be working from the Vicidial Manager's Manual starting at page 1 and skipping NOTHING. Bring us the page and line # you have your FIRST problem on. Eventually you'll get to the end and your dialer will be working. And we won't have to walk you through all the stuff you SKIPPED in the manual. LOL

Hi Spinx23,

I'm South African. :)

Dialing South Africa should not be your problem but your carrier's or SIP trunk supplier's issue.

William's objections and questions are very valid, please post the config in detail and we'll sort you out.

ECN has some weird number format for calling so check what it is they accept and format the Dial string for it.
Check what your Dial string in the Asterisk console is pushing your phone number formats as when you push a call with: asterisk -rvvv | grep Dial .
