Downloading recordings from external location

We have internal QC agents as well as external. The challenge is how do we actually enable the external agents to download recordings? We have a fixed IP address that points to our web server. I have looked in the manager manual and on the forums but cannot find a proper explanation.

that would be because there is nothing special to do to enable external agents to download recordings. if they have access, they can download recordings. however, you failed to mention whether they have been able to log in externally at all ... if they cannot, then your question is not really about recordings, but about allowing an external user to access your web server through your firewall. the reason this is not in the manual is because it is not related to Vicidial at all. it is an apache/firewall process that is significantly more universal and thus outside the realm of Vicidial just like installing a HD or power supply.

that being said: to allow access from the outside to your server is also a security risk in the extreme. I recommend installing dynamic good guys (DGG) which includes full lockdown instructions among other things. And then you'll point port 80 through your firewall to your server (and possibly another port or two, depending on your usage).

They can access the web server from outside. When they click on the recording to download it though it is not accessible. Here is an example of where it is trying to find the recording: http://192.168.0.237/archive/RECORDINGS ... 88-all.mp3

This IP address is the internal IP address to the archive server. So from outside that ip address is not accessible.

to download recordings you should replace the private ip on the recording link "manually" for now but there is workaround with it
so http://192.168.0.237/archive/RECORDINGS...88-all.mp3
to
http://public-ip/archive/RECORDINGS...88-all.mp3

modify the server to allow for modification of the recording links. First of three fields to modify is "Recording Web Link" under admin->servers->[choose server]

Ok I'll bite... I changed 2 fields and accomplished this, "Recording Web Link" and "External IP". What is the 3rd field?
