soft phone not registering

hello all
I am using goautodial since 12 months and suddenly i encountered a problem of not registering my soft-phone to the server.
I have checked with my network and everything seems to be fine.I can login to goautodial server through my browser also but while connecting from my softphone(eyebeam ) the asterisk logs shows error like this:
chan_sip.c:10012 check_via: '[' is not a valid host


so please help me on this to solve the problem

Upgrading solved it for richardroi apparently, what version do you use?
you could try to debug this as i suggested in the topic: ngrep-sip 'maddr'

Thanks for reply.I am using goautodal 2.1 and had this issue so i updated to 3.0 but the problem is still there.I think this problem with the network. when i use lan only my softphone gets connected but whenever i add wan on other interface my all the softphone gets disconnected but still i can get connected from browser but not from the softphone

Enable SIP debug in asterisk and post the output here when a softphone tries to register and fails and also one when it works.

And explain in detail that "add wan on other interface"-part, I don't even know where you are editing

Try setting up a new box with the latest release! run them on the same time.I encountered this issue, and now I'm running on the new box with latest version release with no issue, disposed the old one .

Sounds like you have a routing issue.. nothing to do with asterisk or vicidial.

You likely have an error in a sip entry somewhere which is causing a failure in writing your sip-vicidial.conf file.

It is actually possible to break Vicidial with a bad error.

Have a look at sip-vicidial.conf and consider manually changing it (will be overridden anyway at your next vicidial save) and remove everything except the entry you are trying to actually use. If that fixes it ... some simple troubleshooting should find it.

also have a look at your sip.conf in case the bad line is in there (have you edited it? what's the file date?)

I spent almost 2 months looking for the "[" with no luck, what I haven't tried is changing the two NICs.
Running in production so I have no choice but to setup a new server.
If you found the error kindly update us/forum also.
