Send recordings to second Hard drive

Postby davesdatasystems » Mon Jul 06, 2015 2:18 pm

Hardware is the same that is in the signature other than the software, it is the latest Vicibox preload
Vicibox_v.6.0.x86_64-6.0.3.preload.iso

I seen a entry before on this after searching the forums, but it was very hard to follow. This goes a little beyond what i know about linux

I have a second HDD that is connected to the dialer. I want my recordings to go to that hard drive, it is already mounted and shows under sudo/fdisk -l

I just do not know how to direct my files to that hard drive. I seen the option listed to mount the file to that disk but i do not have the first clue how to do that and the other post was hard for me to follow, so if anyone could help me with that, it would be greatly appreciated.

I believe you can simply edit /etc/astguiclient.conf

Then edit the following options:
Code: Select all
# Paths used by astGUIclient
PATHhome => /usr/share/astguiclient
PATHlogs => /var/log/astguiclient
PATHagi => /var/lib/asterisk/agi-bin
PATHweb => /srv/www/htdocs
PATHsounds => /var/lib/asterisk/sounds
PATHmonitor => /var/spool/asterisk/monitor
PATHDONEmonitor => /var/spool/asterisk/monitorDONE

You could also format the disk and mount it to /var/spool/asterisk/monitorDONE via /etc/fstab. Then create the following folders with these permission in it.

drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Aug 28 2011 FTP
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Aug 28 2011 FTP2
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Aug 28 2011 GSM
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Aug 28 2011 GSW
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Aug 28 2011 MP3
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Aug 28 2011 OGG

You'll want to be mounting the HDD in he /home/ folder. Then activating FTP, following the archive server configuration instructions so kindly created by Kumba.

Once you've done that, you'll be "archiving" your client audio recordings automatically into the /home/archive folder on the new HD and slowly draining the MP3 or GSM folder (wherever they are presently) and then you can delete the old ones. Be sure to read up on how these files are moved and the links modified and DO test with a SINGLE audio file and verify the link in Vicidial's admin interface is properly altered to link to the new location before you activate the cron job to move ALL of the files.

We charge $50 to set up FTP (to receive) and we charge $50 to set up Archiving of Audio (to send!). But if you follow Kumba's instructions (or bring us your hiccup if you have one ...), it can be done easily enough.
