UTF character encoding in comment field

Postby bobchaos » Thu Sep 03, 2015 11:14 am

I recently made an upgrade to 2.12-505a BUILD: 150806-1348 on a single system install. We tested the new language features (thx for the free french translation whoever did it!) and it all works nice except for the display of accented characters in certain fields. The comment field, for instance, displays accented characters like it would in Western character set set instead of UTF-8. The rest of the page is fine, only the input fields refuse to properly display french accents. I tried forcing Firefox to display UTF-8 only but no better. I've used PHPmyAdmin to confirm the data is fine in the DB and it is (and PHPmyAdmin displays it properly too).

Does anyone know how I can fix the display of accented characters in input fields? Did I miss an option when setting up the languages maybe? Thanks!

*edit* before i forget, the above example can be reproduced both on the admin lead search page and the agent interface.

Thank you for reporting this. Could you please create a new Issue Tracker ticket for this and upload some data to it with French accents so I can test?

I've created a Mantis report (http://www.vicidial.org/VICIDIALmantis/view.php?id=890). What data exactly would you like? Are you looking for a MySQL dump or just a sample line from vicidial_list? I'm visiting my client this weekend I'll get you whatever you need.

Just a sample line or two for vicidial_list should be good enough. Thanks!
