[resolved] *Urgent* Agents login to wrong server

Postby bobchaos » Sun Sep 20, 2015 9:13 pm

Hello everyone,
I made a mess while moving a client from a single server to a cluster system. We started we a single server install made with Vicibox. That server was updated to VERSION: 2.12-505a BUILD: 150806-1348 successfully. I then used a newer version of vicibox to install 2 new servers: 1 web and 1 asterisk. I updated both of those to the same version, transfered the telephony hardware, carriers and other relevant information. I'm now unable to connect to the agent interface, it always tries to get a session on the old server who no longer has his telephony hardware. What would cause it to behave like that? Where do I need to edit this?

Other things I have done: created the new server entries in the DB, set the old server to not be an active server, active agent server or active asterisk server, made sure the new dialing server took on those roles, adjusted my keepalives so that 5 and 7 are only on the new machine, moved conferences and phones over to the new machine, set all the servers to rebuild conf.

The exact error message of the agent screen is "Sorry, there are no available sessions: ||192.168.x.x|915145550579@default|Local/915145550579@default| " where the address is that of the old server. I would appreciate any help, i'm in a rough spot :(

*EDIT* Bah it was a stupid mistake, the phone I was using was an external entry and Vicidial simply has no way of knowing what entry it should use between the original and the copy I made for the new server. Sorry to bother everyone with this :/

Here's your problem:
then used a newer version of vicibox to install 2 new servers: 1 web and 1 asterisk. I updated both of those to the same version,

When you installed Vicibox, it should have handled everything. The version should have automatically matched. The clustering would be completed and everything "just works". There's no "updating" after insstallation. Nothing like that.

Were you using the "Preload" or the "Standard" install iso?

go back to your "working one server" backup. Add the new servers with Kumba's Very Cool Auto-Clustering Standard Vicibox 6.0.4 .iso image. Works very well every time. I don't think we've had a fail unless we had a bad download since 4.X.X (always MD5 check your download, LOL).

and when you add phones ... use the bulk phone adder (it'll build load balanced entries automatically across all servers!)

@williamconley, I did use the installer (vicibox server standard) as I have many times before but this is the first time the SVN upgrade didn't do itself :/ everything else went through as planned tho if you exclude all the custom stuff I built for him over the last 2 or 3 years. Kinda regret customizing it now :/

Anyhow, I'll poke through the install logs next time i'm over there, see if I find something worth reporting to Kumba.
