The "Help Icons" (?s) not working!!

Newbie here. I have a weird problem. The ?s that launch help topics are not working. They just bring up another login page and no matter what credentials I enter it just prompts me to authenticate again. I've had this issue since I've installed Vicibox 5 and I kinda ignored it, but now having the explanation of what each configuration does would be EXTREMELY helpful!!! Please help.



OS: ViciBox 6 Express Install
CPU: Xeon quad core
HDD: 20GB 15K SAS
Virtualized with Vmware 5.5

Everything is vanilla.

There is no vanilla flavor of Vicidial: You listed two installers but not your Vicidial Version with build which is required.

If you are implying that you have not installed any other software after the Vicibox install, please say "no added software" instead. And be sure to list your Vicibox installer version (5.x.x? 6.x.x?) not just the major revision level. Each has its own idiosyncrasies (and often this is how we find them).

Did you upgrade at some point to go from Vicibox 5 to Vicibox 6? Or fresh install? Did you bring your DB along after the reinstall?

Check the URL in the ?'s and see if the domain matches the domain of the site you normally log in to. And be sure your administrator access has pretty much everything turned on. And I won't rule out that your virtualization is causing an issue as well. Note that the help links merely bring up a single file with a bunch of anchors to bring you to the anchor for the item you clicked on. If php believes that this file is somehow not in the site you're already logged in to, it'll challenge you. Many things can be broken in this process.

Of course, I never use the "express install" (or the preload) so I can't say it's not just broken in the installer, either. But if you've installed with both Vicibox 5 and Vicibox 6 ... and YOU have this problem in both installs, the odds are that the problem is related to you and not to the installer.

First of all thank you for taking the time to respond. I've followed the installation guide EXACTLY step by step a total of 5 times now. Even tried it non-virtualized with the same result. I did copy the 6666 user profile and made another admin login and that works just fine. Perhaps I'm missing a "1" somewhere?

Easy solution: put 1s in all the slots. Then look at the DB and see if there are any "NULL"s or other slight technical differences between the original 6666 user and yours.

I was having the same problem too - downloaded and installed v2.10 (ViCiBox v6.0.x86_64-6.0.3.iso). I already had two existing Admins - my data came from a backup / restore of a previous ViCi install - so - I thought that this had something to do with the upgrade scripts that were run. Anyway - I copied the 6666 user, and created a new Admin level user - and THAT user works - but - even with all "1's" everywhere - I cannot get the help icons to work for the 6666 or the other previous Admin user. I will take a look at the users' records in MySQL - see if there's something that doesn't make it through to the ViCi web interface, and report back if I find anything...in the meantime - copying the user seems to resolve this issue...thanks!
