Mysql installation problem

Hello,
I want to connect mysql to the console then it throws the following error.
reply me as soon as posible

ERROR 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)

When i type URL http://59.144.165.14/agc/vicidial.php to connect Vicidial then it shows error

Hi

check is the mysql server running or not

/etc/rc.d/init.d/mysqld status ( fedora/redhat)

post the output.
