DID and Transfer Question

Postby D » Fri May 25, 2007 4:51 pm

We have one DID for a 48 port VOIP Gateway. The calls go the agents that are free. The agents are using Analog phones. How would be insure that the customer info on the screen would match the call that would come thru the Analog phone that is connected to the VOIP Gateway.

Thanks

Its a regular 48 port AudioCodes VOIP Gateway.

Please let me know what do you mean by - Are you receiving reliable callerID info?

We want to have remote agents take inbound calls using voice broadcast. The dialer will make outbound calls and the prospect will hear a recorded message. The prospect can press 1 to speak with an agent and at that time the call will get transferred to an agent who is free/available. The VOIP Gateway has been assigned 1 DID and has 48 ports. The call will get routed to any of the available agents. These agents will be on Analog phone that are connected to the VOIP Gateway. The agents will be logged in thru agc/vicidial. In this case how do we determine that the name on the screen matches the call that has been transferred on the analog phone that is connected to the VOIP Gateway.

If you are just sending to a single DID that then gets distributed to a random agent then there is no way to determin what call an agent is getting. Can you not set a unique DID per port on the gateway?

If we don't have a unique DID for each port...can we set each port as an extension and can the calls be transferred to the extensions that are assigned to each extension? Can Remote Agents be on extensions? The agents will be logged in thru agc/vicidial.

You can create a "phones" entry that is of the EXTERNAL protocol and then you can use extensions within Asterisk for them.
