All web and asterisk servers in the cluster will need their own unique fully qualified domain correct?

Example cluster:

MySQL only server Does not need FQDN
Archive only Server. Does not need FQDN
Web only Server 1 Unique FQDN
Asterisk only Server 1 Unique FQDN
Asterisk only Server 2 Unique FQDN
Asterisk only Server 3 Unique FQDN
Asterisk only Server 4 Unique FQDN
Asterisk only Server 5 Unique FQDN

This cluster would need 8 static IP addresses and 6 of these would need fully qualified domain names.

Correct, SSL is required for WebRTC phones, and for that you need FQDN and static IPs.

You can have noip2 service installed to enable dynamic ip on FQDN. And even get a free FQDN via noip

A domain costs $10/year. Each domain may have UNlimited subdomains (ie: FQDNs). Trust in a 3rd party free system is not what it once was for good reason. At a savings of $10/year ... plus having all your agents pointing their browsers to a 3rd party FQDN is unprofessional (IMHO). But if you have Zero techies available and need something easy, what the heck. lol

We even have domains for 3 euro per year, and yeah you can make a subdomain for each server which is free.

3 Euro per year ... For the First Year? That's what I keep seeing. Then it renews at $15. lol

I'm talking $10/year is the most I've paid (for a .com) in a decade.

I checked but at our current provider we pay 1 euro for the first year and 4 euro for the following years. These are Dutch .nl domains, not .com.

.coms are 10 euro per year

Are there any special requirements for .nl? (Like ... no privacy screens or having an official address there for instance).

I see I can get that for $12/year here, or $5.39/year for .eu or $5.87 for .it. If the only use was for agent phones, something other than ".com" is fine, of course.

But I can't get .nl for that price where I shop. However, $5.39/year for .eu is not too terrible.

We get them here www.versio.nl , no idea what happens if you try to buy one from abroad. afaik there are no restrictions

Apparently $4.59 registration or renewal cost (with VAT).

But I don't think it includes privacy, worse I don't think Privacy is even an option.

So excellent pricing for a "cheap to use" domain, but for publicly accessible sites it's a pain. Inevitable spam at your registered email address for the site, so having the site public would be a pain.

It'd have its purposes in some situations simply because it's so dang cheap, though.
