On-hook webphone

I'm trying to configure on-hook webphones. I have it working already, the only thing is that when you login you still get the message 'no on is in your session'. Normally when you use a softphone/hardphone you don't get this message when you use on hook. I tried setting webphone auto answer to N but didn't help.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Clarify: If it's "no one is in your session", how is it also "working already"?

Working already: When there is an inbound call the webphone rings and you can answer.

No one is in your session: When you login with an off-hook webphone you get the message that no one is on your session and you have a link that you can click that says 'call agent webphone'. This is the standard vicidial way for doing outbound blended inbound, with an active connection (off-hook).

When you only do inbound calls and want your phone to ring when a call comes in you set the webphone to on-hook. But when logging in vicidial still shows the 'No one is in your session' warning screen and allows you to call the agent webphone. But you don't want this in an on-hook scenario because it actually sets the agent to busy if he does that so the next inbound call won't ring the webphone. Normally when you use a hardphone of softphone it also doesn't show the 'no one is in your session' screen when you login. That's how it should work with webphone too but doesn't.

So really all that's needed is a modification to the javascript that can catch the "nobody in session" message and autoselect "dial the agent" so the nobody in session message never even needs to appear in the first place?

Sounds like a feature request. You should sponsor that ... 8-)

What you have described would be perfect for off-hook agents. I'm talking about on-hook your phone should NOT be dialed when you login which is already default vicidial behavior so i was just guessing this is a bug or something that has been overlooked when developing.

for onhook agents, the point of onhook is that they can choose the option of NOT answering. if they do not need that option, they should be OffHook agents as that is the inevitable result of auto-answer. Especially with web phone where the agents don't actually need to be holding on to a phone at all (if they have speaker/mic insted of headset).

plus: i strongly suspect that overlooked is an incorrect connotation: More likely ... nobody paid, hasn't happened. there's quite a lot on the development pile at all times and this is likely just one on that pile.
