multiple - limited manager accounts (level 8)

Postby seekerx » Mon Feb 17, 2020 6:16 pm

Hi team,

I am new to this forum and vicidial altogether :)

I have setup a box and trying to work through a POC (proof of concept) for now.

The follow thread explains about different user level for their associated access/permission
to perform various tasks:

~~
http://www.eflo.net/VICIDIALforum/viewtopic.php?t=7861

1 - fronter
2-5 - closer or fronter
7 - report viewing only
8 - limited manager
9 - alter-anything manager
~~

My goal is to have (for now, to keep things simple here) two limited managers accounts (for example: 8881 and 8882).

User Number 8881 is member of User Group: group-8881
User Number 8882 is member of User Group: group-8882

User Number 8881 has User Level: 8
User Number 8882 has User Level: 8

Each of these accounts (8881 and 8882) are enabled with:

Change Agent Campaign: yes
Modify Campaigns: yes
Campaign Detail: yes
Delete Campaigns: yes

Modify Lists: yes
Delete Lists: yes
Load Leads: yes
Download Lists: yes
Delete From DNC Lists: yes

Load Leads: yes
Modify Leads: yes
GDPR-Compliant Export Delete Leads: yes

View Reports: yes
Export Reports: yes

Delete From DNC Lists: yes

Purpose is to have each limited manager ONLY manage their own campaigns without interfering each other’s
(like have not ability to delete a campaign that is generated by other limited manager).

Q1: First of all, am I on the right track in doing so for the purpose mentioned above?
Q2: Is there any a better way to do what I am trying here to accomplish?

Any hint, guidance welcome!

Limiting users to specific campaigns would be done via the User Group. With User Group limitations, the users would not see Campaigns to which they have no permissions. Modify the User Group for each of those users.

Note: NEVER modify the "ADMIN" user group. Make new user groups for each group of campaigns (or one for each manager). You can (and will) lock yourself out of the system. Happens all the time. 8-)

First of all, thank you for your quick reply with
accurate answer.

In addition to what I did already, has to fine tune for their associated
campaigns per your suggestion in their user groups.

Yes, ADMIN is kinda root on UNIX/Linux so I will not touch that at all.

One other thing I noticed that when leads are loaded into list, sometimes do not show up immediately in hopper regardless which user uploads (including ADMIN=6666). Perhaps I have to pay more attention about campaigns' time slot to run. I see there is one crontab entry when I grep hopper in the output of crontab -l.

Anyhow, still need to review my hopper issue in the light of this link:

Thanks again,

Leads load into the hopper at the :00 mark every minute. Doesn't matter who loads 'em. The only exception to that rule is when you load via the command line or web api, those interfaces have options that allow direct hopper drop.

Almost there....but

When dialing the campaign, I get the call on my Zopier5 PC app (which is registered to gs102@vicidialbox) and when I pick up, it drops / hangs-up, I get:

[Feb 23 21:21:42] -- Called gs102
[Feb 23 21:21:43] -- SIP/gs102-00000000 is ringing
[Feb 23 21:21:52] > 0x7fdbe0005ad0 -- Strict RTP learning after remote address set to: my.pub.lic.ip:8000

[Feb 23 21:21:53]

Running the asterisk in debug mode, 'core show applications' show all these meetme applications loaded:

<< snip>>
MeetMe: MeetMe conference bridge.
MeetMeAdmin: MeetMe conference administration.
MeetMeChannelAdmin: MeetMe conference Administration (channel specific).
MeetMeCount: MeetMe participant count.
<< snip>>

I thought that I may have messed up during the install or so, I re-built a 2nd instance and has the same response when initiating the campaign.

Any hint, guidance welcome!

How is this related to the subject line of "multiple - limited manager accounts (level 8)"? Or did you just attempt to hijack an existing topic for your own nefarious other needs?

Good point!

Definitely, I should have opened a new clean thread but I am coming from a background where email thread talks about a specific project/task. Thus kept the same here.
