using TTS to say digit

Postby roll72 » Tue Mar 10, 2020 2:43 am

Hello,

Does anyone know how to set the TTS entries (vicidial 2.12 or higher) to say some digit which could put in one field ('comment' or 'alt_phone' for example). The scenario behind this is to make an outbound call when enduser need some kind of OTP but it can not read SMS or can not be reach using mobile phone.

Thanks in advance for help

1) Welcome to the Party! 8-)

2) As you are obviously new here, I have some suggestions to help us all help you:

When you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method (7.X.X?) and vicidial version with build (VERSION: 2.X-XXXx ... BUILD: #####-####).

This IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "manual/from scratch" you must post your operating system with version (and the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system) plus a link to the installation instructions you used. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

3) If all you are saying is digits, you don't actually need TTS. Numeric digit recordings are already present as files on the server, you merely need an agi script that will request them based on the value in a field. Have you read the Vicidial Manager's Manual for which fields use TTS, etc.? It's likely that there is something (or several somethings) already built as examples. I'd also look in the agi folder to see what agi scripts are already there and see if any of them could be used as your base for this task.

/var/lib/asterisk/agi-bin/

Note, for instance, that there are some prompts in that folder which will undoubtedly read a phone number or id number back to a caller. That would be making use of those digit files. 8-)

Hello wiliam,
thanks for your answer. Sorry for missing the basic requirement to post correctly.
Here is my configuration :
VERSION: 2.12-479a
BUILD: 150313-0912
My vicidial is on a single dell server (no virtual on sip technology)
I know I need probably to update it but it was working since ! I have already take a look on the manual (I bought it year ago) , but I got some doubt on the usage on it. I digg in two potentials solutions :
1/ I tried to use it with TTS agi and with TTS listing like this example :
--C--pound--D----C--silence--D--<say-as type='acronym' --A--alt_phone--B--></say-as>
but it was not saying the number which was stored in alt_phone field.

2/ I took a look on the agi-reminder script but it was not so easy to decrypt without some extra explanation. I would appreciate if you have any feedback or tutorial on it (specially if I can put a user field such as phone or alt_phone or _comments fileds).

I saw a third potential solution : the IVR menu but same think I not sure I can put a field like alt_phone or similar un the process.

Thanks in advance for your feedback
