What are the implications upgrading Asterisk?

Postby jessiekidfernando » Thu Oct 17, 2019 6:56 am

Hello Everyone,

Anyone knows the implications upgrading asterisk or the phone system? We are seeing AMD is not moving to other step.

Thanks in advance.

If you check, the latest version of Vicibox will install the latest patched version of Asterisk and that version has some AMD repairs. I'm not certain if the source for that latest Asterisk-Vici (patched) is available for download (for upgrading in place) or not. They don't always bother with packaging every version that they ship with Vicibox (it's IN vicibox ... so it's available, but that doesn't make it possible to install in an earlier version without the source).

However: If you install on a fresh machine, verify AMD, then move your DB from the old server into the new ... there's no risk of dead-in-the-water.
