how configure softphone with external IP and port

I have setup all with vicidial 9 everything is working fine just one problem I am facing
I have port forwarded I have configured vicidial on local IP but I was not able to access vicidial from external location so I asked from a shared office where I have installed vicidial
for port forwarding they forward all the port which I asked from them now I am able to login on vicidial on public IP.

local IP : 10.3x.xx.xxx
public IP : 182.xx.xx.xx:10003

port has been opened:
Port: 5060
Port: 10000 to 20000
Port: 80
Port: 22

problem: but when I am trying to configure x-lite(Softphone) it is not working it is showing

Registration error:408 - Request timeout

Please help me what should I do

is your firewall ports open on linux itself?

We have installed vicidial on private IP
but we are trying to interact with the server
from home our server has been co-working office
premises he has open all the ports as I asked.

Just one last thing want to know should I install vicidial on public IP so we can allow agenst to work from home.

yes it needs to be on the public IP

I want to know one more thing is it possible can we transfer a call outside vicidial (Third party application) like ring central on any other number outside vicidial.

yes you just have to set the dialplan according to your voip carrier's settings
