I have this weird issue. When creating a remote agent for the first time and setting it to active, it goes on resume status and starts receiveing calls. When I put it to inactive after a number of calls it goes to inactive. The weird issue I'm having is when setting the inactive remote agent back to active. It doesn't go on active status on the realtime page even after a couple of minutes. Actually it does however, it will go on pause after a few seconds. Then active again then pause again. I'm using astguiclient 2.0.3. What I usually do to set the agent to active again is to toggle the active/inactive switch after a few minutes.

It seems like your remote agent have lost connection while they were inactive. Does it solve the problem if they click resume - pause - resume, or do they need to logout and login again to make it work? Your biggest sign who tells that they have lost connection is that agent goes on pause-mode and not ready-mode.
If it possible for you to test this remote in "lan" you can see if it's connection to server or something ells. You can also try to have a ping-flood running at same time you pause your remote-agent and then try to bring it up again, to see if you got any delays or lost packages.

Remote agents are quite different than regular agents. They don't need to login via the vicidial agent interface. Their login statuses (active/inactive) can be controlled on the admin page of vicidial.
The remote agents I have setup have their extension numbers configured to play an automatic message to the called number(broadcast dialing). The issue I'm having is that when I placed them on active status after being inactive for a couple of minutes, it seems to take forever. Sometimes toggling the active/inactive status helps. However, it's not reliable.
Doing the ping test is inappropriate since I'm doing broadcast dialing.

Remote agents are not as easy to debug as standard live agents. There have been some changes in the SVN codebase to the remote agents code that should help some of these issues.

Thanks Matt! I'll be testing the SVN code soon and will provide feedback on the remote agents.
