can't make modifcations to campaign's in detail view only basic. This applies to existing and new campaigns. For example, change the VDAD extension to a different one. Type in the changes click submit, its back to what was there before . I tried rebooting the box .. same thing. Any ideas ?

Most likely a database onconsistency. check your vicidial_campaigns table against the MySQL_AST_create_tables.sql file.
Keep in mind if you are updating SVN trun frequently that I change the database schema frequently. Look at the system_settings.db_schema_version and comparre it to the update_2.0.5.sql file when doing every update.
