ViciBox sever - Agent doesn't hear initial conference msg

Postby edolesky » Wed Oct 07, 2009 4:13 pm

I have installed Vici Server - Version 2.0.5-173 build 90320-0424
Zoiper for softphone.

I successfully installed the server, created a carrier trunk, Ran thru the tutorial to create a campaign, load leads, add list, add user and start dialing.

Initially, everything worked just fine. I was able to place calls etc..
The next day i tried to place calls and when the agent logs in they do not hear the "Only person in the conference recording" The asterisk console indicates that it is playing the message. At this point I can place a manual call and have a conversation. I restarted the box and also restarted asterisk. I was unable to fix this so I did a re-install. The same thing happened again. Initially success and then the same problem.

I suspect some problem with the hangup and then the sync between the call and the meetme conference. Is there something that needs to be reset?

That's an odd problem.

Have you tried installing on another machine?

Can you post the Asterisk CLI output when there's a problem?

I have not tried installing on another machine.

This is the CLI when I login and answer as an agent . Notices that it does say it is playing the message. Also, the agent screen pops very quickly. MAkes me wonder if the call is being muted before the conf message is played.

What kind of bandwidth do you have?

Have you tried another agent phone?

Do you have a firewall?

I have 4.5 mg bandwidth ( 3 T1's).

The 142 range of addresses in internal. In other words the zoiper phone and the vici box are on the same internal network. The only traffic going thru the firewall would be my IAX trunk provider.

I can place calls using zopier and the IAX provider, connectivity and call quality is just fine. Ping and trace routes between the vici and zoiperPC are less then 1 sec.

I did try using zoiper on another workstation with an additional extension. The result was the same!

Any thoughts?

Try another Application, like KIAX or Xlite.

I installed Vici-Server on another system, I configured everything the same way and this installation seems to be working properly.
I am at a loss to explain the difference in the systems. I'll dig into it a bit and for now I have things up and running on the new system.

thanks

please be aware that during the installation some scripts are run for updating and getting the latest install package. an interruption in the internet during this crucial phase has caused all sorts of problems for many people .... usually it's a dead system. but if the hiccup is small, the results could be as limited as a single missing piece of a script. which means "tracking it down" could be less than fruitful.
