upgrade from 1.10 to 2.0.2

Postby Op3r » Tue Dec 12, 2006 1:37 pm

I planning an upgrade from 1.10 to the current beta version.

I was wondering if I can just upgrade it. I can probably just reformat the server but it is hosted on a datacenter. so reformatting the server is out of the question

so

Here's the steps that I am thinking
upgrading asterisk, zaptel,libri
installing perl modules
and running install.pl

upgrade all the packages.

anything that I missed? any hints out there who tried upgrade than complete reinstal?

It might be easier to reinstall :)

what you need to do is:
- download 1.1.11 and run the upgrade steps in the README
- download 1.1.12-3 and run the upgrade steps in the README
- download 2.0.1 and run the upgrade steps in the UPGRADE doc
- download 2.0.2 and run the upgrade steps in the UPGRADE doc

You have to do them all and do them in order for everything to work right.

definately redo the database, dont try to use the scripts to update the database as it will fail on multiple levels..

export the tables you have data in that you want to move over but from a structure perspective build it from scratch.. or create another database called asterisk2 and just migrate information.
