multiple carriers

Postby floydans » Fri Jun 18, 2010 9:47 am

I have no idea how to go through this...

I have a vicidial server using two IAX carriers

- carrier one uses IAX trunk to an Elastix machine on local network. The elastix server has 4 pri (120 lines) installed and fully working

- carrier two uses IAX trunk to an Elastix machine on remote network. This Elastix machine is connect to 1 fully working PRI (30 lines)

I have set "Max VICIDIAL Trunks" to 150 (120+30). What I need to do now is:

- instruct my vicidial server to only use 120 lines on carrier one and 30 lines on carrier two
- instruct my vicidial server to use lines over carrier two only when needed (overflow). I mean use carrier two only if all of the 120 lines in carrier one are already in use.

Is it possible such a thing? Anyone with the same problem?

Thanks
Dan

Forgot to specify...this is only for an outbound scenario, no inbound needed with such a configuration.

Thanks

@Dan: Does carrier one send back rejects/congestions when you attempt that 121st port?

If so simply write up your dialplan to hit carrier one first, and then carrier two second.
