Multi server install

Postby farmerjim » Sun Jun 24, 2012 3:24 am

I've got an opportunity for a 100 seat vicidial and need some advice from you guys please. I've done a few single server and 2 server installs where the second is database only. This one will probably need several telephony, dialler and database servers. Looked at the vicidial doc about multi server and the excellent Poundteam doc about the same and they cover it well.
The question however is configuring E1 cards. I'm not able to use SIP trunks (not nearly enough stable bandwidth) so must use E1; my preference is for SangomaA10x. If I'm using 2 or more telephony servers how would I distribute sangoma cards across 2 or more servers to ensure the calls are spread as evenly as possible.
BTW I'm looking at 6 - 8 E1 circuits so 180 - 240 channels
Any comments and help much appreciated :)

No response yet so I've read further and here's a refined post
I've been reading the multi server cluster manual produced by Poundteam for 1 x DB, 1 x web 2 x dialler and 1 x archive. I have a project for 100 users and I'm planning a similar installation but with 4 x dialer servers. I assume I can follow the guide repeating the steps to add 2 additional telephony servers? I'm also using sangoma A10x cards so if I put an A102 dual port E1 card in each server the calls will be balanced over the 4 servers. Am I right in thinking this?
