Message for outbound campaign

Postby vijaydxb » Wed Jul 25, 2012 2:51 pm

Hi,
We have configured outbound campaign and we wish to play a message after the client answer the phone like “This call is from XYZ international, please hold while we connect to one of our customer service representative. Thank you.” And after that needs to play the hold music. I have uploaded the message to audio store and I am not able to find the option to enable in outbound campaign. Is it possible to do in Vicidial Outbound campaign?

Regards..
Vijay

We are also interested in setting this up.

My question is, what version is required to set up a survey campaign??

Also, once we create a survey type campaign are we stepping on FCC rules and regulations?? And if so, which ones?

Thank you,

Telemarketing Calls That Deliver Prerecorded Messages

In August of 2008, the Commission adopted amendments to the TSR that directly address the use of prerecorded messages in telemarketing. Under those amendments, as of September 1, 2009, the Rule expressly prohibits outbound telemarketing calls that deliver a prerecorded message unless the seller has obtained the call recipient’s prior signed, written agreement to receive such calls from that seller. The prohibition applies to prerecorded message calls regardless of whether they are answered by a person or by an answering machine or voice mail service. With certain exceptions (explained on pages 61 and 62), the prohibition applies to all calls that deliver a prerecorded message, regardless of whether the number called is listed on the National Do Not Call Registry.

Moreover, as of December 1, 2008, even when the seller has the call recipient’s prior agreement to receive prerecorded message calls, the message must provide an automated interactive opt-out mechanism that is announced and made available at the outset of the message (right after the required prompt disclosures described on page 21). The opt-out mechanism must remain available throughout the duration of the call. If a call delivering a prerecorded message possibly might be answered “live” by a consumer, the message must include a voice-activated or telephone keypress automated mechanism that will automatically add the number called to the seller’s entity-specific Do Not Call list and then immediately terminate the call. If a call possibly might be picked up by an answering machine, or voicemail service, then the message must include a toll-free number that, when called, will connect a caller to the same automated opt-out mechanism, which must be available for the duration of the calling campaign.

and a professional interpretation:

Vicidial has been capable of survey since 2.0.5 if I recall. But definitely any version after that. Since Vicibox 3.1.15 will install 2.2, 2.4 or 2.6 ... I'd say you're good to go!

Advice: when you begin to try to fire up your system ... use the built-in survey (democrat or republican) without making ANY changes. Once that is working ... (use the Manager's Manual! do not skip anything! LOL Seriously! Perform the excercises on every page without skipping any, no matter how smart you are ... and you'll come out the other end with a working server OR you can tell us the page/para number and what your problem is and we'll help you through it!).

Once the built-in survey is working ... you can change ONE field at a time until it does what you want. Test after each change. Baby steps. LOL

Happy Hunting.

Ok I have a ViciBox server up and running using the ISO installation.
Tomorrow I will go step by step to set up the survey campaign, using the built in one.

Thanks again for the help and links.

you'll go step by step setting up the server with the steps in the book. not "straight to survey". LOL that would be the LAST step. Do the rest first. The way they say to do it. Without skipping anything. Consider it the price for the free software Matt has so graciously made available for you (not to mention the free manual provided by Matt you'll be using to teach you how to use the free software provided by Matt). 8-)

well for some reason this install didn't have a TESTCAMP loaded. Is that supplied with the PreLoad ISO?? Because we just used the standard ISO.

I'm now trying to configure a Carrier/trunk, but Asterisk isn't running. Is it supposed to be running by default??
I'm researching this issue now.

On all our other Vici servers, Asterisk starts up on boot.

So after a graceful reboot, asterisk started up on boot.

Now I'm trying to get both sides to recognize the trunk.

It seems like the admin GUI is not properly creating the SIP Carrier/trunk to the proper sip.conf file. Or sip-vicidial rather.

Another question I have is, and I didn't find it in the manager manual yet, is this type campaign able to be set to run without any agents logged in?? Ultimately we would like to just load this campaign with leads and let it run and play the pre-recorded message for each call.
If this is explained in the manual I apologize, I've either missed it or haven't found the information yet.

edit: nevermind, I found it. Routing extension is the new Campaign VDAD exten.
My manager manual is older than my Vici version I'm using lol. Time to upgrade my literature.

if asterisk was not running at the end of your install and sip-vicidial is not being created ... you have some basic install issues. did you change your ip address after you installed the system?

Another piece of advice I've been thanked for several times: NEVER FEAR THE REINSTALL. Start over a couple times. You'll be surprised how much more comfortable the system will feel after you realize that 30 minutes is all it takes to build a whole new server after you are used to it.

Yeah I think we had some install issues.
After some more searching, the ViciDial server that we had in operation at this site was capable of survey type campaigns.
But we were really wanting to do an auto dial campaign without any active agents, so we went about it a different way than using the survey options.

Tested successfully and went live over the weekend.
